Our Mission
Our mission is to provide high quality food and connections to essential support services to those in need in our community.
How We Will Accomplish Our Mission
We partner with the Vermont Food Bank (our state's connection to America's Second Harvest Network) and existing organizations such as churches, youth groups, community service organizations, local businesses, schools, and the Town of Williston. We encourage local food drives, and Williston's "Plant a Row for the Hungry" initiative. We also receive donations from local restaurants and grocery stores to provide healthy, nutritious food for families and individuals in need. Private fundraising supports purchases of food from the Vermont Food Bank, local stores, and the cost of our physical site. Our organization is 100% funded through private donations, and no officer or volunteer is compensated for their time or effort.
Our Board of Directors:
Ginger Morton, President
Cindy Marcotte, Vice-President & Treasurer
Betsy Johnson, Recording Secretary
Ilene Snow, Assistant Treasurer

Our History
What an incredible journey it was getting the Williston Community Food Shelf off the ground! Beginning with the tremendous outpouring of support at our first organizational meeting in June 2008, WCFS has seen nothing but generosity from our community. Initially there were optimistic donors who were willing to take a risk on a fledgling organization that didn’t yet have a home. Then came our “white knight”, the Inland Corporation, then-owners and operators of Maple Tree Place, who came to our rescue with the donation of a wonderful space. Doug Gunderson, our mentor from the Hinesburg Food Shelf, tracked down shelving for us, and Joszef Harrewyn and Scott Sorrel owners of Chef’s Corners hosted a party which provided us with seed money to stock those shelves. On November 1, 2008, we opened our doors for the first time.
We are now located in bright, roomy space on Cornerstone Drive thanks to the support of Allen Brook Development. Having recently celebrated our 15th Anniversary, we are proud of what we, an all volunteer organization, have accomplished. Please know, we can never do it alone. It truly has taken a "village".
