The first step to becoming a volunteer is to schedule a meeting with one of our Volunteer Coordinators so you can learn more about roles for volunteers at the Food Shelf.

Volunteering
Anyone over the age of 16 is allowed to volunteer at the Williston Community Food Shelf. You can stop by during our open hours:
Tuesday - 5:00 to 6:30 PM
Thursday - 9:00 to 11:00 AM
Saturday - 9:00 to 11:00

What Will I Be Doing as a Volunteer?
There are five main things that you will be doing as a volunteer at the Williston Community Food Shelf. The first thing that one volunteer must do is sign people in at the front desk when they arrive. Secondly when food donations arrives volunteers will date check this food and put it on our storage shelves. Thirdly one volunteer must help out a customer when they are shopping for food and make sure that they are getting the correct amount of food. The fourth thing to do is whenever the main shelves are getting low volunteers will restock these selves with food from the storage shelves. Lastly volunteers should make sure that the Food Shelf is left as neat and clean as when they arrived.
